  1. I quite like this Portuguese song. It reminds me of a nineties song, but I can't think what it is.
  2. I'm not sure who I'll vote for. Seeing a different team in the top flight would be interesting, but I find it hard to get excited about it being yet another London club.
  3. I'd like Lincoln to get promoted, but I also don't like Tom Hopper.
  4. The UK entry seems like another bottom five candidate to me.
  5. Now for today's unexpected news: Free Radical Design is reforming with several of its old leading members and will be making a new Timesplitters game.
  6. I'll be very much rooting for Aston Villa and/or Crystal Palace on Sunday.
  7. The GTA 5 next-gen port was already announced months ago, so this was just the confirmation of the release date (11th November). GTA 5 has sold over 140 million copies, which is nearly six times as many as GTA 4 did. It's consistently been in the top sales charts for close to seven years now, which is mad. GTA: Online is making Rockstar so much money that it's no surprise they're holding off on GTA 6 for the time being. I did read that Rockstar higher-ups decided to allow its staff to develop future games at a more manageable pace after Red Dead Redemption 2 was revealed to be a crunch-filled nightmare to make. I hope that's true. I can't say I completely trust them, though.
  8. Maybe just get rid of offsides and bring back public park goal-hanging.
  9. It's good to see a club outside the usual suspects winning a trophy. I'm glad for Notts County alumnus Kasper Schmeichel.
  10. I know that the title victory a few years ago will be remembered by more people, but winning the FA Cup and qualifying for the Champions League are huge achievements for Leicester this season.
  11. I'll be interested to read what people think of Mass Effect 3 when they play or replay it. I remember enjoying it until the end sequence, but, unlike the previous two games, I haven't felt compelled to play it again in the nine years since it released. The first game is the one I've replayed the greatest number of times, and that's partly because it's the shortest. The combat was clunky even by 2007's standards, but I wasn't all that bothered because I was a Bioware fan who liked its games for their characters and worlds. Honestly, 2's gameplay improvements didn't bother me all that much because, again, choices, exploration and narrative were my big draws.
  12. They're doing the 3 months for $1 offer again in the USA for new subscribers, I hear.
  13. What I'm wondering is when the reviews will start appearing. IGN's Dan Stapleton revealed that, as of a couple of days ago, no review codes had been sent out by EA. Combined with the news that there's going to be a big day one patch, I'm a little wary. The old versions of the Mass Effect games are still on Steam and don't require any other launcher. They might be a better option.
  14. That's right. From what I've experienced, Origin isn't as bad as it used to be, but it's still a pain to need two different clients to play a single game.
  15. The Outer Worlds is something you'll probably enjoy if you like Fallout. Bear in mind that it's shorter and not so much of an open-world game. Each planet or station has its own smaller sandbox, rather than a big world that's open from the start. In some ways, the Mass Effect games are like that too, but they're more serious in tone than The Outer Worlds. I wouldn't say the gameplay is remarkably good, especially in the first one, but the main focus is the story, the characters and the player choices. The last game's ending is bad, as everyone knows by now, but the journey is enjoyable.
  16. How easy to play is Franchise Mode for someone who doesn't know much about the management side of baseball? Obviously, it won't be as in-depth as OOTP, but is the contract and roster management stuff easy enough to understand?
  17. I was disappointed that Derby didn't get relegated.
  18. A calculator would be helpful in such endeavours.
  19. From tomorrow, you'll be able to buy a calculator app on Switch for just over £8. Bargain.
  20. It's on Game Pass, so it's worth a try if you have that, I suppose. Otherwise, it doesn't look particularly appealing to me.
  21. I didn't think the number of missions was a problem in and of itself because the other games were similar in that regard. I would say that Hitman 3's levels didn't all have the big sandbox feel the previous games did, and so it sort of felt as though the replay value was diminished slightly.
  22. I'm not really getting on with Resident Evil 7. As much as I like the fights and chases, it's the rummaging around drawers to find keys that turns me off. I have a bad sense of direction in the real world, so games that want me to go backwards and forwards, poking around in the dark, are ones that I find quite difficult to enjoy. I understand that it's a problem with myself rather than the game, and it's a staple of the series. For many players, the downtime between heart-pounding action sequences works well because they don't end up spending too long on the puzzle sections before solving them. For me, though, I'll either end up ambling blindly for ages or having to very carefully follow a step-by-step guide, neither of which lend themselves well to a particularly enjoyable experience. I stop finding the game scary and start finding it boring.
  23. Red Bull must be disappointed by how the season has started, given the team's general superiority in testing. If the Mercedes improves, as it's generally expected to, being 14 points down at this stage of the season definitely isn't what Red Bull would have wanted or perhaps expected.
