  1. I can do regular matches just fine and am having a blast with that. However, if I try to do a Pay Per View (I wanted to rebook ONS), KOTR (I wanted Dreamer to drop the ECW title) or any other such thing that's not exhibition, the game goes haywire before the match starts.

Also, somehow Dreamer disappeared from my game earlier while still holding the title, so the Heavyweight title became grayed out and I cannot have matches for it, but I also can't do a championship mode for it.

Dreamer later came back (in a different place on the pages, mind you) but i'm wondering if anyone else might be gone. I think that's fine though. Weird. I miss my heavyweight title.

  2. I played No Mercy on the computer for two years on a keyboard and I found it fine. Hell, when I got a controller recently it was hard to adjust. That might have been because the controller was based on a Playstation one, not an N64 one.

  3. A - Anthrax "What Doesn't Die"

B - Black Flagg "Rise Above"

C - Coheed & Cambria "Devil in Jersey City"

D - Dio "Rainbow in the Dark"

E - Evergreen Terrace "The Kids Aren't Alright" (Better than Offspring)

F - Faith No More "Midlife Crisis"

    G - GWAR "War Party"

    H - Hammerfall "Crimson Thunder"

I - Iron Maiden "Run to the Hills"

J - Johnny Thunders "Chinese Rocks"

K - Kreator "Grinder" (Better than Judas Priest)

L - Ludacris "Blueberry Yum Yum"

M - Megadeth "Take No Prisoners" (Hardest category ever... Megadeth, Metallica, Misfits, Motorhead, MCR, others...)

N - NWA "Natural Born Killer"

    O - The Offspring "Nitro"

P - Pantera "Cowboys From Hell"

R - Richard Hell "Blank Generation"

S - Stuck Mojo "Snappin' Necks"

Y - Yeah Yeah Yeahs "Phenomena"

That's kind of an "At the Moment" list, i'm not sure how happy I am with it, but every song is awesome.

  4. I have nothing of the sort with my GeForce.

Geforce? Are you using Project 64?

And music importing is completely impossible. And all music hacks can do is cause a sound to be heard when you want it to(used mostly for move hacks).

  5. Personally, the offseason is one of my favorite parts of a franchise, so I don't mind the time it takes.

However, as far as waiting for the CPU to do things, that all processes much faster on PC than on PS2, so I don't know.

  6. I've just possibly pulled together the best defense ever, and the season hasn't even started.

I'm doing a Baltimore Ravens franchise. First of all, I signed Ed Reed to a 6-year deal. Can't pass this guy up. He's the best at his position and he's young. I then released starting FS B.J. Ward (Makin' room, and plus he was a Seventy-something) and signed FS Lance Shulters (84) as his replacement. I signed Lance to a one year deal for two reasons. First, he's kinda getting up there in age. Second, I'm hoping the Broncos don't re-sign John Lynch so I can pick him up next season. Wow! Ed Reed and John Lynch on the same defense.

I then realized that I also nedd help at both outside linebacker positions (Bart Scott was my LOLB who is an 84). So I signed Jamie Sharper (91) to help my left outside linebacker position.

After the first preseason game (I simulated it and we won against the Giants) I was messing around with the depth charts and. Suprise! I realized Adalius Thomas, who was a 89 ROLB, was a 96 :w00t: LE. 96, being higher then Trevor Pryce (And a lot cheaper) I used Trevor for trade bait. I made a trade to the Broncos.

    Broncos get:

    Trevor Pryce (LE, 92)

    Raven's 3rd Round Draft Pick

    Ravens get:

    Ian Gold (ROLB, 91)

    Bronco's 3rd Round Draft Pick

    Bronco's 5th Round Draft Pick

So now not one player on my defense is under 80. My D-Line and Linebacking corps are some of the best in the league, and I have multiple 90's on my starting defense.

  7. Help me pick this year's franchise team for me...

I want a team that will take time and energy to develop into a true playoff team. Can't be the 49ers or the Cardinals. I was thinking maybe the Lions but wanna hear other suggestions. I probably won't start this until I have a roster update, so assume the team rosters will be up to date.

  8. Just starting superstar mode (Again, that's all I've played so far) and I noticed a couple things. Number one, you can no longer choose just any position. No more taking that burner wide receiver and turning him into a mediocre QB with speed.

However, the game has a way of basically letting you copy-cat certain superstars basic stats by messages like: "Your father was the Michael Vick of his time." which gave me a QB with very high speed (95 speed) and high throwing power and actually decent accuracy (something like 91 thp 88 acc) and a total overall rating of 88 which is the same as Brett Favre (and coincidentally, I went to Green Bay).

While this is cool and all....I liked the fact that in 06 you had to really get luck to have outrageous-type stats such as 90+ speed for a QB (or my 95 speed defensive end)....you had to have like a dual threat father...and a sprinter or relay running mother, which ended up being quite rare.

Though I do like the fact that you can set the look of your superstar no matter what now. I hated the fact that in 06 you would find a really great combination of parents, only to find that the guy had the wrong skin color or looked stupid.

    meh...anyways...enough ranting..back to playing.

I got the thing in my DNA that compared me to Favre, and then was drafted by the Packers where I was just a few overalll worse than Favre, and was set to take over for him aat the end of the season. I got bored, though.

I don't like SS mode because accelerated clock gets all fucked up in it.

  9. If you get it on the 360, you basically get Madden '06 with a proper superstar mode, a new running play feature I have not used, better graphics, and new commentary.

If you don't get it on the 360 you get Madden '06, proper superstar mode, and a new running feature.

    Oh, and some field textures.

Not really worth creaming over, but that said, I was playing Madden '06 up to yesterday so it's still very much enjoyable.

  10. I got it about two hours ago and just took a break from it. It's still fun, but it seems way too much like last years. I like superstar mode, it's almost identical to last years with the exception of playing as your player. But on the upside, they have Audioslave "Revelations" in the game so it gets a (Y) from me.

  11. Got it this morning, PC version. They cut back on a few of the audio updates. Madden still commentates rather than the radio guy which made me sad. Tony Bruno show is still around, and like Madden's commentary, it has not changed at all. That really pissed me off, actually, mostly because it's changed completely for the other versions.

The field texture change is nice, looks much better, but that seems to be the only really noticeable graphics update unless you play on the 360.

The 40 yard dash blows, it's just tapping a button as fast as you can, and it seems like no matter how fast I tap it my time sucks.

Playing on All Madden, I really need sliders. The games are very unrealistic so far, but it was that way with '06 too until sliders came out. I will play with it and try to make my own here in a bit.

Noticing how far back the rosters are is also a drag. I mean, that's to be expected and they'll get it updated pretty quickly, but I still wish I could have something more recent. Shaun King isn't even playing for my Colts.

The "revamped" Superstar mode seems the exact same with the exception that you play only your own position. That, by itself, is great, but it should have been there to begin with. So we basically get the superstar mode that should have been '06, and the feature probably won't be all that fun until '08 or '09.

The gameplay is nearly identical with the exception of the new features, also to be expected. The 360 version has updated kicking but the PC version does not.

PC version also missed out on the nifty home team intros, which I suspect may be 360-exclusive.

I really had high expectations, but normally I can't put Madden down these first few days and this feels like the same exact game with a different layout to me. The ratings seem spottier than usual as well.

I haven't really been able to give the game it's fair shake yet, but it seems as though if you're not playing on 360, it's a game you can happily wait until the rush is over to pick it up.
