  1. Evil Dead is good. But most people prefer the sequel (which is basically just a remake). I prefer the first. And uh, you're going to have to be more specific. Are you wanting vintage horror films, like Vincent Price stuff? Or do you want more modern stuff? Are you wanting stuff that's more psychologically driven or is just violence followed by violence with some violence on the side? Any particular niché you like (zombies, vampires, etc.)? Things like that. You could always check out Masters of Horror on Showtime (the new season is soon-ish, right?) if you want violent, modern stuff from a decent enough variety of Horror directors. Or TCM Underground on Turner Classic Movies if you want older, campy stuff. And it has Rob Zombie. And uh, the Sci-Fi channel recently started airing Tales From The Darkside on television for the first time in a few years, and it's good to check out. Romero (and Stephen King?) were behind it.
  2. Bright Eyes. Under The Influence Of Giants. Harvey Danger (kudos to uh, whoever suggested it in some suggestion thread recently).

    Wow...

Wait. You watch Lifetime TV movies? >_>
  4. Given how long I've been using Photoshop, you'd think I'd have figured this out by now because it's so annoying, but is there any way to make Photoshop automatically convert "Background" layers to regular, editable ones? I know you can right click the layers icon in the layers window and select "Layer From Background", but is there any way to make Photoshop automatically do this whenever you open up an image? What's the point of background layers, anyways? =\
  5. Yeah, TCM Underground is debuting this Friday night/Saturday morning at 2AM on Turner Classic Movies. It's a show that hosts old horror/sci-fi movies, which is something I personally think TV has been missing for a while. It's hosted by Rob Zombie (who apparently hand-picks the movies), and the debut episode features Ed Wood's Plan 9 From Outer Space and Bride of the Monster. I just thought I'd post to let anybody who likes old horror movies know about this.
  6. The Bat is fair, but it's not a favorite Price film of mine. It's available here here from Public Domain Torrents if you want to watch it. As for Shock, I haven't actually gotten around to watching it. I probably will tonight, since I've got nothing better to do. I just bought a new copy of House on Haunted Hill on eBay, which I've been meaning to for a while now. I managed to get the one with commentary from Mike Nelson and a digitally colored version of the film. Which, if my copy of the Night of the Living Dead from the same company is any indication, should be quality. I also bought The Tingler, another Price film. I haven't watched it but I've heard good stuff. Together it was around $15. I just hope the latter of the two is as good as the former. EDIT - And speaking of The Fly 2, which I haven't watched, how the hell does Stathis manage to survive that ending and come back for part two? >_>
  7. The Last Man on Earth is a great movie. I own it on a "Vincent Price Collection" DVD with House on Haunted Hill, The Bat, and Shock. It's a collection I don't suggest because uh, the audio on House on Haunted Hill is waaaaay off from the video (and the whole point in buying it was for that movie >_<), but yeah, having Last Man on Earth on DVD is nice. I particularly love the scene at the start where he goes to mark the day on the calendar. The make-shift calendars all just look so awesome. But yeah. I'm working on putting the movies in a calendar for October in Excel and I've already realized I don't have anywhere near as much time as I'd like. I may switch it to two movies a day or stick with one but devote the weekends to several. I may upload it whenever I get something figured out. Also uh, what are your opinions on Cronenburg's version of The Fly? </discussion> I'm thinking about adding it because I love it and I was just wondering EWB's general opinion on it.
  8. Alright. I watched House of 1000 Corpses for the first time today, and it totally re-fueled my love for watching horror movies. I've decided, I'm going to make an effort to watch one horror movie for every day of October. To save time, and to get a decent variety of movies that I haven't watched before, well, yeah, I'm calling on EWB. All I know presently is that I'm closing off the month with The Exorcist on the 31st, as I personally feel it's the greatest horror of all time, and it's the fitting way to close the month off. I also know that House on Haunted Hill (the original), Nightmare On Elm Street, Halloween, Night of the Living Dead, Dracula (the original, I love it), and Plan 9 From Outer Space (which will probably be the first night, as it totally contrasts in quality with The Exorcist) will all be included. So yeah, basically, recommend some stuff. Obviously "classics" should be suggested, but please, throw out the hidden gems too.
  9. Not to change the topic, but uh, what's the best online PokéDex with moves, stats, possibly locations, and other general information about all of the 1st-3rd gen Pokémon? Is there maybe a downloadable one? I just bought Ruby off of eBay, so uh, yeah.
  10. I haven't done anything in ages so uh. I'm in.
  11. I can't comment on the other two, but Spiderman 2 is easily the best super hero movie I've ever saw. It blends all these genres so well, and it's just a really brilliant movie, I think.
  12. Yeah. So. A neighbor gave me an extra copy of Pokémon Gold today, when I was talking to him about stuff and noticed he had two copies. I was all "dude, why do you have two copies?" And he told me it was because one of them wouldn't save anymore. So he bought another. Knowing it was most likely just the internal battery, I asked him if I could have it, knowing the battery would probably cost less than the actual game. And uh, here we are. I managed to get the wretched Nintendo screw out of it, and uh, now I need to know just what the name of the type of battery is so I can like, know what to get at Radio Shack or wherever. Anybody know?
  13. Out of Exile or Revelations? I like Revelations a hell of a lot more than Out of Exile.
  14. Audioslave's first album. I know it's not the greatest album in the world or anything, but it's the CD that got me to stop listening to shitty radio-friendly music and really start searching for the real material, all because I loved the way Cornell sounded and wanted some "Cornell-esque" material. It's the album that transitioned me from "mark" to "smark" in relation to music, for lack of a better thing to make a comparison to. Too bad Audioslave's new album is so goddamned underwhelming. =\
