  1. Kelsey Grammer as Beast?

Hmm, maybe if ol' Hank's sticking to the lab setting, but Kelsey doesn't exactly seem action movie material, even if he is under pounds and pounds of makeup.

Well, they could just do Beast without the fur. I think it'd piss off a lot of fans, but it's an option. I'm just happy that Beast AND Angel are going to be in the film. Now all we need is Gambit.

  2. Macken seals Eagles switch

Jonathan Macken has completed his move from Manchester City to Crystal Palace.

The striker has put pen to paper on a four-year deal at Selhurst Park after being informed he was surplus to requirements by City boss Stuart Pearce.

He revealed he had offers beyond that of Palace, but had been swayed to join The Eagles by manager Iain Dowie.

"I need to be playing regularly and having spoken to a few clubs, I was most impressed by Crystal Palace and in particular the manager (Iain Dowie) and chairman (Simon Jordan)," he stated.

"They both have a reputation for being ambitious men and I was left in no doubt by either of them that a return to the Premiership was the only aim they had for this season.

"Palace were unlucky to be relegated last year and I am now really looking forward to next season and the chance to take them back up again."

Macken - who joined City for £5 million from Preston in 2002 - admitted he was left disenchanted to be told he was not needed by Pearce, and felt he still had a future at the City of Manchester Stadium.

"I was very disappointed to be told by Stuart Pearce that I would not figure highly in his plans for next season," he continued.

"The team were playing well and there was a real buzz about the place.

"I felt as though things were just starting to come together for me at City."

Macken becomes Palace's third signing of the close season following Jobi McAnuff and Darren Ward into Selhurst Park.

Meh, I think that sums him up. Not exactly prolific by any means. I don't think he's the sort of player who's going to help Palace get back up. That said, if anyone can get him firing it's someone like Iain Dowie.

  3. booohoooo for not showing anikan slaugthering the children, weneed an unrated version

Haha yeah, the kid killing thing seemed a little odd to me. It was a bit of an over the top way to establish Anakin as a bad guy...

"Okay, you clone troopers take care of the Jedi Knights around the temple. I, the only force sensitive one on our side, will take care of the children."

Well to be fair, I don't think there were only kids in the building. Palpatine told Anakin to go kill all the Jedi in the Jedi Temple, including the younglings. I'm just assuming that there must have been some Jedi in there as well.

  4. Well, I know Wayne Gretzky, Pele, Michael Jordan, Muhammad Ali and Babe Ruth, but none of the rest.

Why the hell is there an 'auto-racing' guy in there? It can be argued that that's not actually a sport, but I'm not gonna do that, I'm just gonna say driving a car really fast doesn't shout 'Hall of Fame material' to me.

Also, who the hell was on this 'Hall of Fame Committee' that voted for half these people?

Coldplay frontman Chris Martin has hit out with some serious allegations against the artist who kept him off the number one spot.

"We saw him backstage at Top Of The Pops," he told The Sun of the Crazy Frog. "He was doing all kinds of drugs.

"He was with all kinds of pond-life hanging around him. He has such a big entourage. Two toads are his bouncers, and a duck that follows him around filming things. He’s annoying."

The singer also revealed that he would like to amputate, then dine on, the Frog's legs. "The point is that little thing should have its legs chopped off. I’d like to eat them in a restaurant."

Well hopefully it overdoses on whatever it's taking.

    BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Ah, bitter much? :D

That said, I'm pissed Coldplay got beaten to No. 1 by the Crazy Frog.

Oh, and there's a whole massive topic aboutt the crazy frog by the way...

  6. I'm gonna drag this topic back up because I want a question answered and can't be arsed to look on other sites :P

In the Master League when you get to the pre-season training part, how do you improve a players technique? Because I swear nearly all the regens are given SHITE technique ratings, causing me bloody problems.

  7. I just read Star Wars: Tales #23 today, and one of the stories in it might be of interest to the people who've played Knights of the Old Republic.

Remember the 'Great Hunt' the Twi'lek tells you about on Dantooine? About the three Jedi (Duron Quel-Dromo, Shaela Nurr and Guun Han Saresh) who went out to eliminate the Terentatek? Well, the story covers their trip to Korriban, and explains their fate. It's a really good story, just thought I'd share that with people.

  8. The only one I can think of is the ending to Star Trek: Nemesis. Not so much of a massive surprise because I was told going into the film that someone would die, just didn't know who.

    Data dies

  9. Cole to appeal fine

Ashley Cole is set to appeal against his verdict of being found guilty and fined in The Premier League's 'tapping-up' probe.

Cole was found guilty of breaching rule K5, which governs approaches from players to clubs, after he was alleged to have met Chelsea over a possible move to Stamford Bridge.

The England international is thought to have made his desire for a move known at the meeting on January 27.

Cole was fined £100,000 for his compliance in the scandal while Chelsea were punished with a fine of £300,000 and a suspended three-point deduction and Jose Mourinho was hit with a £200,000 fine.

Cole's lawyer Graham Shear was furious at the outcome of the commission and revealed they will be appealing the decisions from The Premier League.

"Suffice to say we are absolutely furious about both the decision and what appears to be a slightly disjointed or unrelated penalty that follows," said Shear .

"We think this is an entirely unsatisfactory conclusion that appears to be assumption upon assumption with little more than inference assisting that decision.

"The decision does not seem to bear much in the way of a relationship to the evidence provided both by Ashley Cole and Jonathan Barnett which was both far-reaching and extremely credible.

"We find it hard to understand how the decision could have been reached in light of that evidence. The decision also does not deal with the extremely important issue of restraint of trade so far as footballers are concerned and it doesn't explain why footballers cannot speak to prospective employers.

"I think you can take it from me that we will be lodging an appeal not only so far as the factual or evidentiary side of this decision is concerned but so far as the restraint issues are concerned as well.

"We will be lodging that appeal immediately and we, under instructions from Ashley, intend to pursue this to the fullest conclusion."

    Dein hopeful Cole will stay

Arsenal vice-chairman David Dein admitted he felt sorry for Ashley Cole following his £100,000 fine and insisted the club would look to keep him at Highbury.

Cole was found guilty for his part in the meeting with Chelsea officials in January and was handed the hefty fine - which amounts to around three weeks wages.

Although Arsenal were hoping for compensation from the inquiry, Dein insists he now wants to put the matter to bed and is hopeful Cole will stay put and even sign a new contract.

"We hope Ashley does not leave. We do not want him to leave and we will be trying to extend his contract," Dein told Sky Sports News.

"We did not want to see him punished and I certainly did not testify against him.

"We all make mistakes but we move on. We want Ashley to be part of our future."

"I certainly do think Ashley will remain an Arsenal player."

However, Dein admitted he was satisfied with the outcome of the inquiry, and believes the punishments meted out will serve as a deterrent.

"The rules have been there for many years. A similar rule exists throughout Europe and it is important that everyone respects it," he continued.

"Three points suspended is not inconsiderable and it will be a deterrent (to Chelsea).

"The rules are there to be respected. If clubs do not like rules take them out and let's have a free-for-all.

"People learn from their mistakes. We are going to close the book now. We do not want any hostility."

In an official statement, Arsenal echoed Dein's sentiments but again offered support for Cole.

"We believe that the hearing was fair and thorough and are pleased with the outcome.

"Hopefully this verdict will deter clubs from illegally approaching players in the future.

"It is also important to note that we have been supportive of Ashley Cole throughout proceedings and wish to reiterate that we remain fully committed to extending his contract with us."

PFA chief Gordon Taylor also expressed sympathy for Cole and insisted he had been badly advised by his representatives.

"Ashley has been put in an invidious position," Taylor told Sky Sports News.

"He was considering other options and my information is that he did not know Chelsea personnel were going to be at the meeting.

"His advisors knew he was going to be put in an impossible position. "The rules are in place to try to make sure the image of the game is correct.

"We do not want one team looking to destabilise another team but I am sorry for Ashley. It is very punitive and I think he was badly advised on this occasion.

"I do not know of any case where a player will actively contact another club. It seems disproportionate that Ashley is fined £100,000 when the club with multi- millions is fined £300,000."

I think everything that's happened has been fairly dealt with and personally, this should be the end of it all for ALL parties. Chelsea and Ashley Cole have no right to appeal any of the disciplinary actions if you ask me. Cole, Mourinho and Chelsea all deserve their fines, and Chelsea deserve the point deduction. The only person who's gotten away with it (and the person who, after Peter Kenyon, has the most culipribility) is Cole's agent. Agents are the scum of the earth (after Manc's :shifty:) and there should be some regulations where the bloody agent gets a hefty fine or something.

  10. Brian Harvey the guy that was in Im A Celebrity crap is in hospital seriously injured after being run over by his OWN car, apparantly he was leaning out and then well fell out and got run over..

Who cares? The idiot's already tried to kill himself twice, which makes me not give a crap about him. Have no respect for people who try to commit suicide.

  11. I've only got the graphic novel...I've never in my life come across a different version of it. :-/

Oh, see, I thought it was a book as well, and the graphic novel was an adaptation. Because I've seen the adaptation for one of the Jedi Academy Trilogy books, Dark Apprentice it was I believe.

  12. The Highlight of that game was when they let you hear the American commentary on the game.  GREAT HUSSLE BY BECK-HAM, A CROSS FIELD BALL... GOAL FOR OWEN!

Am I the only one who, after watching the game, then hearing the US commentary said "I so wanna watch the game with USA commentary!".

Also, I found the fact that in America they have ad-boards with movies on them far more entertaining than the game itself.

I thought about it, then I thought my head would implode from the sheer annoying qualities it has. As awful as Le Saux is, I would beg for the likes of him if I was stuck in America to watch the World Cup. :(

Nobody is as fucking awful as Graeme Le Sux. As much as I hate the idea of more than a minutes worth of American commentary, I'd gladly sit through it if I had to choose between Americans of Le Sux.
