Well, in my current game, I've just finished my 2nd season with Institute (one of the lower teams in the N.Irish Premier League). Finished 5th in the first season without any silverware after being told to avoid relegation, but after strengthening my squad (thanks to 150k for my midfielder), I won the League Cup and All-Ireland Cup in the second season, despite only finishing 7th in the league.
I of course applied for any big jobs going, and got turned down for them all (Paris, Man Utd, Birmingham, to name a few), but I just got offered the Charlton job
I like 'Stute, but Premier league football appeals to me.
I dunno what to do
And upon further inspection, I just realised I'd be playing Championship level next season after a 19th place finish. Damn Curbishley
Turn it down I say. Stay for another season, see how things go. Plus if you do well you can build up your reputation and get offered better jobs. That said, it depends on what sort of situation Charlton are in (money-wise, player-wise, financially).

Technically V for Vendetta took place in 1997 and 1998. But since they don't state the year it is happening in the movie I guess it's legit as a "futuristic" film.
At some point in the film, I'm sure they say the year is 2013 or something like that.

No Star Wars yet? Seriously?
"A Long Time Ago, In A Galaxy Far, Far Away..." begs to differ...

Well if Lehmann ever gets injured or sent off we know Kolo Toure can stand in now if need be. Good match yesterday. After the first 20 minutes Utd looked a bit shakey but they soon went up a few gears. I know it's stating the obvious, but it's sad that Arsenal just don't seem like a threat any more. Even more so when Henry is sat on the subs bench.
To be fair, we did look like scoring a few times. Not enough true, but we still looked a thread, even without Henry. Also, for the past few months, we've looked like we could score 5 or 6 in nearly every single game. It's just yesterday we didn't really perform as highly as Man Utd did. For the rest of the season I'm going to be cheering them on to beat Chelsea to the league. Never thought I'd hear/see myself say/type that.

I like it. No Scarface anywhere makes me happy. I think it's the first film-related list ever that doesn't have that in.
Dr. Strangelove being 12 is brilliant.

And for reference, who was the character in the cartoon and comics that could turn into differen't characters, but eventually turned against the X-Men?
Yeah Morph, and he was a character in the cartoon, and was only introduced in the Age Of Apocalypse universe as far as I can recall.

Well I've started off unemployed with about 20 leagues running in 7 countries (no non-league, that'd kill my laptop ) and I about three days after the game loaded I was offered the Walsall job. This is on the update patch, so it's got all the January window transfers done.
First season, told to battle bravely against relegation; in February I'm top and nine points clear of Nottingham Forest and damn it was going good. But, I went on a six-game run without a win, which allowed Forest to go five points clear and I just didn't catch up. Finished second, which was a brilliant achievement, so I'm in the Championship now, and two month's in I'm in the upper-mid-table ranks after a summer of shoe-string signings (Marc Kalenga from Rangers was my most expensive signging at £40,000). It's good fun.

It's a mutant transport prison did it say? So that whole thing about Juggernaut not being a mutant...forgotten eh?
It's not like this is Marvel 616 continuity or, with all the other crap they've got stuffed in here, they've got time to really do the Juggernaut/Professor X stuff properly. And Juggernaut not having the same origin as his 616 counterpart is probably the least of my worries about this film.
Fair point. But the thing is, certain things around the film(s) have ruined potentially awesome stories. For example, there's the Wolverine spin-off, and two of his biggest enemies (Sabretooth and Lady Deathstrike) appeared as throwaway characters without so much as a "hey, I know you don't I" sorta reaction from Wolverine. I don't have a problem with the film following different routes than the comics, but if they're doing a Wolverine origin story (which according to Marvel.com, it sorta is; as in set before the films and in his past) one of/both of those two could/should be major players. Ah well, I'll reserve judgment til I've seen X3 at least.

Wow...we're gonna win this thing now...

The attributes don't go up themselves. It's like the attributes for CAWs, you fill up the meter with your experience points. What the game means is that using the team will let you raise their stats to a certain level, i.e.
Original stat is 0 of 2 (for example)
You play a few matches
Stat is now 0 of 3
It's up to you to actually use the points to change the stat TO 3 of 3, if you get what I mean
And yeah, you can do it in normal matches. I've bumped my team up to level 8 or something.
I knew about that, but what I meant was that the stats are still saying "0 of 0" for most of them. Explaining better would've helped perhaps...
So, out of curiosity, what CAW's do people have at the moment? I have:
Arn Anderson
Brian Pillman
Curt Hennig
DDP
Diesel
Dusty Rhodes
Dynamite Kid
Goldberg
Jim "the Anvil" Neidhart
Jushin Thunder Liger
Kevin Nash
Marty Jannetty
Owen Hart
Razor Ramon
Ric Flair (80's version) - Might delete him though
Ricky "the Dragon" Steamboat
Roddy Piper
Scott Hall
Scott Steiner
Sting
Terry Funk
Tully Blanchard
Ultimate Warrior
X-Pac

Anyone know how to get the stable attributes up? It says on one loading screen about playing through a season with a member of the stable, and that that's how, but can you do in normal tag team matches? Because My Hart Foundation stable, despite me having two tag team matches with different combinations, haven't had the attributes pop up. Nor with my nWo stable.

Hmmm, there is no button.
Maybe its the skin? I'm just using the default one.
Should be a button in the message. One says "Accept job" the other says "Reject job". They should be in the same place as the buttons that allow you to choose whether to send a player to your physio or a specialist, for example.
If you have continued since the offer, the deadline for your decision may have passed so the best you can do is apply and hope they reconsider you.
It should be a "View Offer" button shouldn't it?

I've found something to keep me entertained on this game for a while, as I had been losing interest a bit. I've been doing a 'title tour' where I'm the champ and I just continuously defend it. If I lose against someone, I start playing as them and give the guy a rematch, and keep on going. Quite entertaining. Already been Bret Hart, Diesel, John Cena and Brock Lesnar thus far.
-
I have only missed two I think, but in non-significant categories.
It's been ok thusfar, although I disagree with TMM and ROC with the Serenity thing. Maybe it should have been nom'd for visual, but it doesn't compare imo to Narnia or Kong, even though Kong sucked the category is for visuals.
I dunno what I think it should win, but something. It easily blew Star Wars out of the water in every conceivable way (except the nostalgia feeling) and you just know Star Wars will win something. There should be a category that rewards films for being fresh, because Serenity was just that. It's getting annoying not actually seeing anything you haven't seen before in some form or another.

Slither looks like a lot of fun. Anything with Nathan Fillion in it is automatically goodness, but this is something I've been looking forward to since I read about him doing a new film.
-
TMM, you're 100% right on the Brokeback thing.
 ...which part?

I got all excited about seeing an actual nWo DVD cover made, but it turns out to be a No Way Out one. Still really good though. 9/10

Quick question before I go to bed and maybe turn this on, is Serenity up for any awards? If not, I may pass.
Ixnay on the Serenity, I'm afraid. Frankly, it should've gotten a nom for Best Visuals simply for the fact it was made with 4x less the budgets of King Kong and Narnia and held its own with those.
Pfft, not worth watching. It's annoying that films that don't do that well, but are 'critically acclaimed' seem to get over looked despite being better than 90% of the usual shit that Hollywood churns out. Serenity was the best film released in the past year bar none IMO.
Oh, and I'm of the opinion that should Brokeback Mountain win anything, it'll be because it's a gay film. Haven't seen the film, but since it came out that was the first thing I thought of. No matter how good it is. I'm probably talking BS and the film may deserve everything it may win.

If someone had told me we would be ahead of Arsenal at the start of the season at the end of Februay I would of had them commited.
As would I. More worrying is that if West Ham win (tomorrow is it?) then THEY will be above us as well. Not to mention Bolton having two games in hand over us as well and being only a point behind.
-
Anyone surprised? Yeah, me neither. It's typical that we can go and beat Madrid at the Bernabeau, then loose to Blackburn in the space of five days.
It showed on Tuesday that when teams actually try and play against us, they'll be destroyed, but when they defend and try the long balls we fall for it every time. Not saying I disagree with their tactics, but it's frustrating as an Arsenal fan to see how easily we were "found out" and how we haven't come up with a second plan of attack.

Not really a spoiler somewhat, it doesn't really reveal anything, other than Spiderman is going a bit emo and depressive .
90% chance that it is the symboite suit.
You just guessing or have you heard that somewhere? I honestly can't believe they'd simply make the symbiote suit his normal suit, just black and grey. I expect that the suit to have some form of similarity to the one in the comic.

It's Lego and it's Star Wars. Just like the first one, those two things together are reason to buy anything, so, yup, they got my money again.

I only care about Bones and Scrubs, and with Bones staying around (yay) and Scrubs on the fence so the speak (boo), I'm more happy than not at the moment. If Scrubs does get canned however, I'll be pissed.
