  1. Do you praise them as a team, or individually. I find if you end up praising the team as a whole and nothing else, then they tend to get a little upset. You've got to strike the balance between letting them know they'll all doing well and letting the individuals know their contributions are valued. I tend to find if I let them know they've done well most of the time and save the overtly-jubilant praise for the big matches, then I do alright.

I also find if I choose the last choice of wanting them to "play like this every week!", then they seem to get upset. You've got to be careful with stuff like this.

Yeah, only time to use that last one is if your team has been playing really badly and not winning for a while, then manage to pull out a really good result.

  2. The only problem is he was the best player at either club when they went down. Had he been given a go at Arsenal, we'd most likely be seeing him in an England shirt.

He was given god-knows how many chances, and he blew every single one of them by fucking up off-pitch, so Wenger had enough and told him to bugger off. He had his chances, he just screwed them all up.

  3. Ashley Cole, if he has his way, won't leave. He was asked whether he wants to be alongside Thierry Henry at the Emirates next season and he said "definetly". Whether you wanna take it as fact or not it depends, personally I want him to stay because he's the best left-back in the world, but it all comes down to how the board and Wenger feels because they guy did to talk to Chelsea behind their backs.

  4. He was great for us in his day, but isn't the player he used to be. Seeing Reyes on the left is much better these days, and Hleb does a decent enough job out there too. Pires hasn't had as many chances in the last year, and what with us giving him little security, I guess the grass looks greener.

He could probably still play for most Premiership sides, but we need to keep our team fresh. He's been a great servant to the club, and I wish him well.

I think the biggest reason Wenger wanted to keep him was because of the experience he brings to a team full of young players. But he's gone now, and it'll be very interesting to see who Wenger brings in now in addition to Rosicky.

  5. He is still a very good player, better than a lot of Premiership players still, but he wanted security and a 1-year deal wasn't enough so I get why he's gone. I'm sad to see him leave because he coulde've done a good job for us next year, but I get why he went.

  6. The Crow: Wicked Prayer - 3.5/10

The 3.5 rating there is SOLELY for David Boreanaz. I swear, without him, this film would easily be the worst I have ever seen, everything else was atrocious. The story was one of two things; atrocious if you've seen the original, and poor and random if you know nothing of the original. Trying to watch it as it's own film was difficult, but everything was just really bad...bad...bad!

I recommend this solely to David Boreanaz fans. He channels a little bit of Angellus towards the end, which is always great. Now to go watch the original and forget this piece of shit.

  7. Czech midfielder Tomas Rosicky signs for Arsenal

Czech Republic international Tomas Rosicky has today joined Arsenal Football Club from Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund on a long-term contract for an undisclosed fee.

Attacking midfielder Rosicky, 25, who has made 31 appearances in the UEFA Champions League for Borussia Dortmund and Sparta Prague, secured World Cup football for the Czech Republic this summer by scoring the winning goal in the decisive qualifying play-off second leg against Norway last November.

After joining Borussia Dortmund in January 2001, Tomas won the Bundesliga and reached the UEFA Cup Final in his first full season with the club (2001/02). He also enjoyed success with Sparta Prague, where he won back-to-back Czech Republic league titles in 1999 and 2000.

Rosicky made his international debut aged 17 and represented his country at the 2000 and 2004 European Championships. Tomas was also recognised in his home country by becoming the youngest ever winner of the Czech Player of the Year award in 2001 aged 20, and he went on to repeat the honour the following season.

Manager Arsène Wenger said: “We are delighted to welcome Tomas to our squad. He has great technique, skill on the ball and sharp passing. Tomas has good experience at all levels for club and country, and we look forward to welcoming him to Arsenal after what will hopefully be a successful summer for him at the World Cup.”

New Arsenal signing Rosicky said: “I’m really happy to be here at Arsenal, it is a great day for me. The team showed its strength recently in the Champions League and it has big potential with a lot of young players, I think we can be even better next season. This is the best club in Europe and I will give everything for Arsenal.”

Rosicky will join up with his new team-mates after competing in this summer’s FIFA World Cup.

YAY! The deal is reported to be around £6.8m according to Sky Sports News because of a clause in his contract. He is going to be awesome.

  8. I can officially recomend Waiting for anyone in the UK, that film didn't let me spend more than a minute without laughing aloud.

Waiting is the film with Ryan Reynolds right? If so, I was going to see it anyone for that reason alone :P

Also...why does TURKEY get Pirates of the Caribbean before anywhere else?

Gwaha, exact same here. The film is basically all just a backdrop for his ability to serve excellent one liners in his guyish way, but it also adds a bit extra with every other character, there's only one unentertaining character in the film.

Haha, i'm the same. Ryan Reynolds is the only reason I went anywhere near Just Friends when that came out, and for that same reason i'll be going to see Waiting over the Da Vinci Code tomorrow.

Ryan Reynolds is beyond awesome. Two Guys and a Girl produced two of the funniest guys around (Reynolds and Nathan Fillion) and it didn't seem to be that popular. I'm so happy it's back on Trouble again now. Now, bring them out on DVD!

  9. If Pires goes over the Summer, which seems likely, Van Persie can be opted out onto the left and the two can be alternated up front.

No. Van Persie is a striker first and fore-most and is best played up there, and personally, I think van Persie is better than Torres anyway.

  10. Well Arsenal could bring in another great player into the Premiership by finally buying Fernando Torres.

As great as he is, where would he play? Henry and van Persie have the front two taken, and the only place other than that is left-wing, which Reyes has almost made his own if/when Pires goes. I'd love to have Torres, but not at the cost of possibly dropping van Persie.

  11. I suggested to a friend last summer that Arsenal should sign Rosicky to fill in the midfield role. Wasn't he linked with the Gunners last summer?

He's been linked with us pretty much every years since anybody ever heard of him.

  13. Arsenal vice-chairman David Dein says the club turned down two £50m offers for striker Thierry Henry before he agreed to sign a new four-year deal.

Henry's decision ended any chance of him replacing £47m Zinedine Zidane as the world's most expensive player.

"We turned down two world record deals from Spanish clubs. You don't have to be a rocket scientist to work out who they were," he told the Sunday Express.

"Our message was clear - he wasn't for sale. I'd like to think he heard that."

Dein also revealed that the contract Henry signed was one that he was offered back in January.

"We made an offer in January, prodded Thierry now and then, but never put pressure on him," he said.

"Money wasn't really mentioned. He wanted to know where we were going, but in reality I think he knew."

Dein said the chance to influence the next generation of youngsters at Arsenal, who want to play with him, may also have persuaded Henry to stay on.

"He had seen the youngsters emerge after a dark period.

"We have three teenagers at the World Cup - how many other clubs can say that?

"The reason they are here is because of Thierry. The first question Theo Walcott asked was "Will Thierry still be here?".

"I believe he also knew that if he went to a club like Barcelona or Real Madrid, he would just be a prince. Here he knows he is a king."

I'd have accepted the offer if I were Arsenal. No player is worth £50,000,000 in my opinion. Especially a striker at age 28 - I'd imagine the majority of his best years are behind him and he'll be entering the twilight of his career pretty soon. I certainly don't think his contribution to the Arsenal team from this point on will warrant turning their noses up at 50 million. I mean really, how much will they have to win on the pitch through Henry to earn that much? How can it be justified? Surely some of that money could have been used to sign another world class striker (or two).

Well this season alone we just made over £50m, we made the most money out of all the English clubs, so that makes up for it. Besides, Henry is arguably the very best player in the world, and even when he gets past 30 and loses some pace, he'll be playing the Bergkamp role, maybe not scoring as many as he does, but he'll be making more. We don't need the £50m.
